Assault Fitness Australia were lucky enough to spend the day with “Second Fittest Women on Earth” Tia-Clair Toomey, discussing all aspects of her training in the lead up to the 2017 Crossfit Games.
Tia-Clair Toomey – Athlete is now a household name in the Crossfit Community after finishing 2nd at both the 2015 and 2016 Crossfit Games. Tia also represented Australia at the 2016 Ria Olympics finishing 14th in the 58kg weightlifting event. What made this achievement even more impressive is the fact she competed in both events only a few weeks apart.
Now getting ready to compete in her third consecutive Crossfit Games, Tia is more determined than ever to secure that elusive 1st place finish.
Tia talk about her journey to the Olympics and becoming the “Fittest Woman on Earth” with Assault Fitness Australia. Here we get an insight into Tia’s strategy during event 1 at the Crossfit Regionals in Wollongong.
Tia gives us some incredible insight into what she was thinking and feeling during the event and the types of tactics she employed to ensure a strong finish.
Tim and Tia been working together in the leadup to this year’s Crossffit games. Tim has a wealth of experience working with crossfit athletes improving their cadence, running technique and efficiency.
Tia and Tim then move on to talk about the Assault Airrunner and the improvements from previous manual treadmills . Tia looks at it from an athlete’s perspective “I didn’t have to chnage any of my technique” and also goes on to say how smooth the treadmill is and how comfortable it is to run on.
